The Rock of Cashel has achieved a milestone by making it into the UNESCO Worl Heritage Tentative List.

The Co Tipperary attraction was included in a shortlist which was submitted to UNESCO in 2010 by local authorities and campaigners who hope to have their particular attraction included in a process that will eventually herald a new world heritage site by UNESCO.

The Rock of Cashel is now one of seven Irish sites that are still in the running for the alcolade.
