Gardai in Tipperary town await the results of a post mortem before they decide on whether to upgrade the investigation into the death of a man whose body was discovered in the Fawnagown area yesterday.

At around 2pm yesterday afternoon the body was discovered in a storage pit for liquids at the rear of a house at Fawnagown.  A post mortem is taking place in an effort to identify the body and establish the cause of death.  The house and its surroundings are still corndoned off for examination.

The body is believed to be that of missing man Bobby Ryan who was last seen on June 3rd, 2011.  Extensive searches have been carried out in the wider area since the unexplained disappearance of the 52 year old.

Gardai in Tipperary are now appealing to the public for any assistance they can provide in relation to the discovery.  They have set up an incident room at Tipperary Town Garda Station  and can be reached at (062) 80670
