A 49 year-old man has appeared in court today charged in connection with the murder of Bobby Ryan.

Evidence of the charge and caution of Pat Quirke, with an address a Breanshamore, Co Tipperary was given at Tipperary District Court just after 10.30 this morning.

Mr Quirke was remanded in custody to appear before Thurles District Court on March 28^th.

Bobby Ryan, a father of two, was reported missing on June 3^rd, 2011, nearly six years ago.  Despite intensive search efforts, it was not until April 30^th, 2013 when his remains were found in a disused concrete tank at a farm in Fawnagown.

After submitting a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions, gardai in Tipperary town received instructions back from the DPP and yesterday they arrested Mr Quirke who has now been charged with the murder of Mr Ryan in and around the date of his disappearance, June 3^rd, 2011.

A Tipperary family is campaigning to have the availability of parking permits extended to people with intellectual, developmental and cognitive disabilities.

Tom O’Dwyer, whose son has autism, says it is his experience that people with disabilities that are not necessarily physical also need the protection that is provided by access to more convenient parking spaces.

This week Tom launched a petition in which he is calling on the Minister for Transport to take into account the specific needs of the Irish public rather than simply complying with the minimum standards required by the EU.

The petition is available throughout Tipperary town.
