Cashel Town Councillor has demanded more information regarding proposals to close the council offices in Cashel upon the amalgamation of North and South Tipperary County Councils.

Cllr Martin Browne has drawn attention to the fact that people will be faced with extra costs by having to travel to Clonmel or Tipperary to do any business they may have to do with the councils, adding that the closure of the Cashel offices will also mean losing the tax office which has been instrumental in bringing people into the town.

The Sinn Fein councillor is calling on the local Fine Gael and Labour councillors as well as the Junior Minister for Agriculture Tom Hayes to as he puts it, represent the people of Cashel and surrounding areas by supporting his proposal that some services can be retained.
