A number of flights have been cancelled at Cork airport and weather warnings are in place for much of Ireland as Storm Barney sweeps across the country.
 
Aer Lingus regional flights to and from Edinburgh, Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol have been cancelled as well as City Jet to and from London City Airport.
 
The airport is advising intending passengers to check with their airlines.
 
The weather has affected a number of services to and from Shannon. The Aer Lingus scheduled service to Birmingham has been cancelled later this evening, and a Ryanair service from Gatwick to Shannon has been diverted to Liverpool.
 
The highest reported gust of wind so far was at Shannon airport this afternoon where a wind speed of 129km/h was recorded.

As a mark of respect to the victims and survivors of the recent atrocity in Paris, a Book of Condolences is open today at the French Quarter Café in Tipperary town’s Excel Centre.
All are welcome to come in and sign it to show their support of and solidarity with the people of France, especially those in Paris.
129 people died in Friday's attacks which militant group Isis has claimed responsibility for.

A request has been made for the Education Minister Jan O’Sullivan to clarify why a number of schools in Co Tipperary have seen a reduction in the numbers of Special Needs Assistants allocated to them.
The request was made by Deputy Mattie McGrath, who says that he has been informed that it is a concern in both the north and the south of the county.
